An AI audit for private equity is an independent assessment of a target or portfolio company's AI maturity, risk and opportunity — scored across twelve dimensions and translated into deal terms: diligence findings before the LOI, value-creation levers after close, and a defensible AI narrative at exit.

Every CIM now claims AI. Almost none of them can show it. For deal teams, the question isn't whether a target "uses AI" — it's whether the claimed capability survives contact with evidence, what it would cost to build what's missing, and how much EBITDA is available to the owner who does.
